OH.
Oh.
That’s nice.
My body hummed with tingling pleasure and promise as I
refused to open my eyes and let this dream end. My fingers
slipped underneath the sheets and reached the dampened apex
between my thighs that yearned for his touch. A sound of
frustration escaped my lips because it wasn’t enough, wasn’t
what my body craved.
“Who’s Seif?” the Water Fae in my bed asked, causing me
to remember where I was.
In the Water Kingdom… in Calder’s bed.
I jerked my hand to my chest and opened my eyes,
blinking a few times to rid myself of the dusty silver of the
Web that still clung to my dreams.
Had that been a vision? Because holy hell. I’d never had a
vision quite like… that.
“Who?” I asked innocently, sitting up and bringing the
sheets with me. I leaned back on the headboard and sighed,
still haunted by the erotic sensations dancing through my core.
“Seif,” Calder repeated, pinching my chin to make me look
at him. I couldn’t match his light blue eyes that captured me
with their crystalline luminosity. Instead my gaze fell to the
silver chain around his neck that reminded me of the Web. It’s
what had drawn me to him in the first place. That and the fact
that his hot friend named Glacier was already taken. I never
stepped on another girl’s turf.
“I had a vision,” I blurted. Lying wasn’t my thing, and it
wasn’t my fault I’d had an orgasmic prophecy during my
sleep.
He swept his fingers over beautiful blonde spiked hair that
instantly bounced back. Water Fae had the coolest hairstyles.
“You’re telling me you’re moaning another guy’s name in
your sleep because you had a… vision?” He quirked an
eyebrow. “You expect me to buy that?”
“Even if I was, it’s not like we’re exclusive,” I reminded
him. I made a point before sharing his bed that this would not
be a long-term engagement. I didn’t do commitment, not when
I could see the future and know I’d be inevitably disappointed.
No, I preferred to live in the present with my relationships,
especially when they were short-lived. Calder and I were just
having a good time and I knew he’d share all his stories of
banging a Fortune Fae with Glacier when I went back home.
I didn’t really care, because meeting a handsome Water Fae
during Solstice Festivus had been the perfect distraction. My
parents wanted me to scurry back to the Fortune Realm and
help them gather Dust for the Elders who were going batshit
crazy, demanding far more Dust than they ever had before.
A sweeping of hurt over his features made me get to my
next point.
“Calder,” I said his name as I matched his gaze again,
making a point to widen my eyes. Dawning lit on his face as
he took in the traces of silver that no doubt remained. It had
been a powerful vision, one that would linger with me for days
and was strong enough for even a non-Fortune Fae to see
across my irises. “Fortune Fae rarely have visions of their own
futures, so it couldn’t have possibly been me anyway,” I told
him. “Not unless—”
